The project aims at developing novel multichannel amplifiers based on custom microchips with integrated signal processing for real-time simulation of human excitable cells. Integration in a high throughput (384 channel), automated patch clamp instrument will enable direct electric coupling of biological cells and in-silico simulation and delivering a screening platform for drug effects on ion channels, enabling drug function and safety assessment by combining in-silico and in-vitro assay technologies.
